I bought this Chromebook in 2012 when Chromebook's were in their infancy and the hype was just beginning.Basically I got this for travel and only used it maybe 10-15 times in the past 5yrs.It was extremely easy to set up (type in your Chrome/Google credentials and all of your information gets added).Immediate boot up and shut downs, automatic updates...it's just an easy, no hassle machine.There are several limitations obviously; you won't be able to install Windows programs (the only thing I personally miss is iTunes but Google Music is a decent replacement), the RAM is limited and can't be expanded, the 16gb SSD is small, but you can expand via USB or sd card storage.Although as much as I liked it's design, portable size and weight for travel, and ease of use, I had no need for it at home.I had a laptop, phone, and tablet.Then recently my 2 year old Windows 10 laptop had a hard drive failure and completely died after numerous issues over the past year with speed, crashes, bugs, updates that took forever, etc.I went hunting and dusted off my old Series 5, expecting an old interface and clunky performance.I did a reset and update literally in 2 minutes and then the Chromebook was as good as new; just as speedy, easy, and streamlined as I remembered.Now I'm holding off on a Windows replacement for now and using this as my primary laptop outside of work.

I have ordered SEVERAL of these for my autistic daughter.It goes everywhere that she goes except the shower and thats just because it is not waterproof!!! I have 7 of these in my classroom as well and have never had a problem with them.You cant download anything on them so they dont to get a virus or crash!I order one about every3 months just because my daughter wears them out.The price is great but I wish they offered a price break for ordering in bulk.I would get a couple of extra for my daughter and for my classroom.

A nice netbook, but not much else

This is a good little netbook for productivity or checking the internet. I had a hard time doing all of my work on it because of it's size. Playing a game, anything other than a really basic flash game, ended up being to much computing power for the processor and the same thing goes for Netflix and some YouTube videos.

Additionally, no delete button and having a search button where the caps lock button usually would be is also a deterrent (though these are available with the visual keyboard setting). Lastly, because it is so thin, the power chord cracked and broke where it inserts into the computer. A new one is around $20 on Amazon and may be worth picking up so that you have a spare.

Overall, I liked the Chromebook and the Chrome OS, there have been some bugs, but Google has been relatively quick in fixing them. For $250, this was a decent laptop, but I certainly would have been discouraged had I paid full price for it.

I bought this with my wife in mind who wanted a laptop to use around the house for checking email, staying up on Facebook, looking up recipes, printing occasionally, etc.

So far it is a big hit. She loves how quickly it boots up and navigates to websites. Once I installed enough apps to let her access and edit MS Office docs (with Nexus InstalFree), showed her how to use Google Drive and Google Cloud Print, she has been a very happy camper!

The battery life is good and the unit is very small and light and does't get as hot as some other notebooks.

The only complaint so far is that is missing a delete button. Granted, ctrl-alt-del is not necessary for Chrome OS, but she still wants to be able to delete text after the cursor.

Another difficulty that I hope to find a work around for is I can't get the chromebook to access my external hard drive plugged into my router. I would like her to have access to store and retrieve photos from that drive, but there seems to be no option to do that built in.

Bottom line: this is great for someone willing to learn a little bit, but then just wants to get on line and do his or her thing.

I have to say this exactly what I was looking for. I have a gaming desktop at home but sometimes I have work that I need to do when I travel and I don't want to deal with a full size, battery draining, not heavy notebook computer. Since all I need to do is check my mail, listen to music, play some casual games, work on Microsoft Office programs, etc. This chromebook does it all.

The extensive app store that Google provides is great. At this price it is hard to pass up. Especially since hardware upgrades are a thing of the past. Buying one of these could potentially last you a lifetime since all computing is done through Google's own cloud servers as well as other third parties. I'm sure the updated Chromebooks that came out recently are great but I bought this one because of the price.

Best bang for your buck. At least for those that have a primary desktop computer at home.

I bought this Chromebook testing it for work. It really works great, is pretty easy to use, and loooooong battery life. But I was having issues keeping it connected to wifi. Chrome Ninja explained that since this technology is so new it is really sensitive to bad wifi routers. I even had an issue keeping my Sprint Myfi aircard connected. This had to be programmed differently to work. Then I had an issue with the system locking up when I plugged in the myfi. I eventually had to send it in to Samsung to get worked on. Samsung claims to have fixed it, but they can't seem to tell me what was wrong or what they replaced. I still haven't gotten it back yet. So I am not sure how it is working now.
